The bottom line is that insurance carriers, and the brokers that cater to them, (not you!) are, more than ever before, working together! An even bigger issue though, is there are fewer and bigger players in the provider market as well. Hospital group consolidation and their subsequent acquisition of a majority of physician groups in the market have had a tremendous impact in the medical field.  Negotiations between these groups and the few insurance carriers left, as you might guess, are not in your favor!
